We made it to Indiana!

Travelling with a poor sick Paili. She had a fever and nasty cough.
We had beautiful scenery on the way to Indiana!
Trying to get my yahoo's down for the count.
We had planned on leaving Missouri around 8 am but Paili was burning up with a fever so we waited until she was feeling a little more human. My parents rented a car and we got to the car rental place about 12:15...only to find out that they close at 12 on Saturdays. Seriously! My Dad was not in the best of moods to begin with and I was pretty sure he was going to keel over from how stressed he gets. Thankfully, my calm and collected Mom was able to have them open the doors and give us the car. God really knew what He was dong when He put the two of them together. My precious Garmans called when we were maybe 5 minutes out of Joplin and said they meant to give me their iPad to take with us. If  someone had been in better humor, I would have asked him to turn around. The offer of it was enough to make me feel loved. I'll be honest,  I was really dreading Skylar in the car for that long because she is an awful car rider. Sometimes she thinks she isn't going to make it from my house to my parents house, which is all of 7 or 8 minutes. After the first 30 or 45 minutes she really did fantastic. Paili was feeling terrible but of course she did fantastic. I can always count on her to be good. The main thing that made it bearable...the DVD player! We watched so many movies. I am so glad the Blu-Ray movies also have the DVD version in them. We may not have made it without The Lorax. We were stopping for a late lunch at Arbys in Bolivar when my Uncle texted my Dad and said that they were not taking my Grandpa off of the vent. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions! We forged ahead anyways. When we got to my Grandparents house it was really late but there were several cars there. Some of my family wanted to see us so bad that they waited around for us! I was absolutely thrilled to get to hug my cousin Devon, Aunt Jill, Aunt Ellen, Uncle Phillip, Aunt Joy, and Uncle George. Devon has become a father since the last time I had seen him. I loved hearing him talk about his sweet baby boy and watch him interact with my girls. He was smitten and so were they. I was so upset when I realized that I didn't get any pictures of Dev with my girls but I was sure I'd see him Sunday.

Dryer fun!

These two-should have been twins.
Caught in the act. She looks super worried.
Helping with the laundry. HUGE help.
When my parents were on their way home from Indiana they got a text from my Uncle stating that they would be taking my Grandpa off of the ventilator. My Mom let me know and I made arrangements with my boss to take the next week off of work so I could go back with them. I felt sad about the turn of events about my Grandpa but also very excited to see my family in Indiana. I hadn't seen most of them in 5 or 6 years-some longer than that. I have a huge family in Indiana. My Dad having 3 siblings with all of his siblings having 4 children and a lot of their children now have children (that I haven't even seen!!). We made up our minds to leave Sunday morning. Then we got a text that my cousin Devon would be in Friday and leave Sunday so we decided to leave Saturday so we could catch a glimpse of him. Indiana here we come!! I can't wait.

Happy Birthday Taylor!

I have the BEST husband. He is always cooking up something yummy for us to eat.
Sky tackling the HUGE play things.
Going down the slide with sissy.
Happy Birthday Taylor Ray!!
Yummy-who doesn't like cupcakes?
I love these two.
I also love Taylor's Mommy.
How cute is she? Yvette's niece, Aubrey.
My girls and I getting ready to leave.
My girls with the birthday boy!
Paili helping me feed the animals at my parents.
Someone was exhausted from the day and just layed on Uncle Aaron.
Gabby was getting acquainted with Auntie Erin.
Saturday 10/6/12 was Taylor's 6th birthday party at one of the local bounce houses. Skylar had never been to one and she had so much fun. Paili was so excited to play with her little sissy on the inflatables. The girls enjoyed cupcakes with the birthday boy. I got a great workout in climbing all the inflatables with them. Skylar had no nap and passed out on the way home. She slept in the car while Pai and I fed all of the animals at my parents. She snuggled up with Uncle Aaron when we got home-he didn't mind at all. He's pretty fond of her. (to put it mildly) We had a great evening with the Garmans. Justin made some delicious chili. I love my life.

Dog sitting

Gabby and Paili
My parents had to go out of town due to my Grandpas health. Which means we were home to take care of all of the animals. We ended up taking the dogs home with us. We weren't sure if Gabby was a willing participant because of how long it took to get her hairy butt in the car with us. She did great once we got home though. Sadie was just as happy as if she had good sense. Both of my girls just love those dogs and they love them with just as much enthusiasm right back. I loved going over and taking care of the animals for my parents. They do so much for us on a daily basis it felt great to be able to do something in return. None of the animals died in my care, I felt great about that.
Sadie and Paili

Bonus...easy child care!

I put her in her pack and play, fully dressed, at the Garmans when we were leaving I went to get her up and found this.

.

Wyatt and Candy bars.

Sky LOVES him. So sweet.

Sky was showing him all the great deals.

She also felt the need to try on his clothes.
So sweet.

Way to go Jakey! You did it. He was so proud!

After I took Pai to school, I took Sky to my Mom's. I stayed there and watched Sky and Wyatt while my Mom went to the dentist. Wyatt is a very handsome little fella. He is my Mom's best friends nieces little boy. Whew! She started watching him after Michelle had to go back to work. I enjoyed snuggling a sweet little baby.

After work, I very quickly picked my girls up and headed home. My Mom texted and asked if I had a dollar and if I did, would I want my Dad to bring my nephews by to sell me a candy bar. I looked in my purse and I had 1 dollar! Score! Soon after sending my reply my nephews were knocking on my door! Paili bought a candy bar too. She was excited to use her own money! I told the boys I'd take them around to my neighborhood. They sold the entire box of chocolate. Jakob was so excited even more excited that he would get these light up rings for selling the whole box in one day! Jack was a little sad that he had left his box with his Mom to sell at work. I'm sure he'll sell his box too. Jakob will get another box to sell. We'll get the boys this weekend to sell some more around town. Who wants more candy bars?

Fitness: I ran and walked.

Ringneck snakes and the Blue Hole

Ohhh. She was fascinated.

Paili was feeling braver seeing that Skylar was not being harmed.
Conquering fears is a good thing.
Just watching.
The blue hole.

When I got to my parents to pick up my girls they were out feeding the animals. I watched them from the back deck and saw Paili was carrying around a mason jar. She suddenly started screaming. Dad and the girls had been out looking for ringneck snakes. They'd found a couple and they were in the jar. I told her to stop screaming they weren't going to hurt her. Growing up on the same property that my girls get the privilege of playing on, it was very common for my brother and I to be out looking for snakes and such. Ringneck snakes are my absolute favorite. I went out to show her how not scary they are. I first gave it to Sky. She loved it. She just kept saying, ohhhh and cool. It was so fun to watch her. Paili then decided she could hold it. She ended up loving it. We found a few more and she was loving them. She really wanted to take them home. I told her that her Daddy wouldn't be pleased to have them in our home. I reminded her that she knows how to find them and is able to get one to play with anytime. She had to show my Mom....who is a huge lover of snakes not a fan of snakes. HA!! Poor Mom.

On our way home we stopped so I could show my girls the Blue Hole in Oronogo one more time before it's filled up. This whole ordeal makes me angry and sad. If you'd like to read more about it. Go to this link... http://www.joplinglobe.com/local/x325726898/Divers-owners-say-goodbye-to-Big-Blue

Fitness: I got stood up at yoga. My own Dad didn't even show! How sad. I walked instead. I got to chat with my neighbor Heather coming home from night school.
